Frank & Nick

Frank Kineavy

As a freshman at Villanova University, Frank Kineavy juggles his academic schedule with his time spent as a manager for the Villanova men’s basketball team. Like most college students, Frank is exploring different areas of interest by taking courses in film, English, and education. However, unlike his classmates, Frank has spastic cerebral palsy, which prevents him from walking, talking, or writing. Frank has proven himself through his friendly, outgoing personality and excellent academic performance both at Villanova and in high school. Frank attended Manasquan High School in his hometown of Sea Girt, NJ, where he managed the basketball, baseball, and football teams. He always had constructive criticisms and encouragement to offer the players on their performance. Frank is looking forward to his sophomore year at Villanova and believes that this film will help him become more involved with the student body.

Nick Gaynor

A student at Great Valley High School, Nick Gaynor will be beginning his freshman year at Villanova University in fall 2010. Nick is from Malvern, PA and was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects his muscle control but not his attitude or outlook on life. He received the Katie Samson Inspiration Award for his hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitude. Nick has a passion for sports and is involved in numerous athletic activities including his roles as the assistant coach of his high school lacrosse team and the manager of the Villanova women’s basketball team. He cannot wait to become fully immersed in the college environment and become an official Villanova Wildcat. Nick hopes this film will show people who he is and encourage them to develop deeper relationships with people who have disabilities.
